Cy graduated from the University of Alberta in 1991 with a Bachelor of Commerce. In 1992, he started working with Great-West Life as an advisor. Cy became the Regional Retirement & Investment Services Manager for the Nova Scotia region in 1997. He earned the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designation in 1996, the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation in 1997, the Chartered Financial Consultant (CH.F.C) designation in 1998, and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2001.

Cy has been active in the industry, working with the local Advocis chapter (the professional association of financial planners) and has moderated several CFP courses for the group.

As a private wealth counsellor with Private Wealth & Estate Services, Cy provides assistance to financial security advisors in delivering value-added knowledge and services to high net worth individuals, families and businesses.
